Genin wa Jibun ni Aru. (原因は自分にある。; The Cause Lies Within Me.), formerly known as BATTLE STREET (バトルストリート), is a 7-member boy group under EBiDAN affiliated with STARDUST PROMOTION. They are formed on October 15, 2018 as BATTLE STREET project and later changed their group name to the current one and adopted a new concept for the group. Their debut single "Genin wa Jibun ni Aru." was released on October 9, 2019.

About The Group[1][]

"Genin wa Jibun ni Aru." (Genjibu) is an avant-garde Japanese boy band who takes on the meaning of GENIN “cause” —a person or thing that gives rise to an action, phenomenon, or condition— in a positive way where they will generate a meaningful impact to start an entertainment for the new generation.

Trivia[]

  • When they first being told that the group name (Previously BATTLE STREET) is going to be changed, they have a bad feeling about it. After the new group name (Genin wa Jibun ni Aru.) got revealed, they feel sad about it because it was a sentence and have a negative tone but as the time goes by, they came to love the group's name.
  • The group's international name is 'GNJB'.
  • They have a phrase to chant before they're starting their live performance which was;

    'Genin wa Takato, Kousaku, Masaya, Ryota, Jun, Kazuto, Kaname, Orera ni Aru!'

    The meaning of it was 'The cause is Takato, Kousaku, Masaya, Ryota, Jun, Kazuto, Kaname, It's in us!'
  • They have a name for their staff which was Kansatsusha (観察者)
  • Both their fandom name Kansokusha (観測者) and their staff's name Kansatsusha (観察者) means observer but for their fandom name, the meaning is more 'to measuring and recording things that change' as fans will watch the group's growth and improvement meanwhile for the staff name, the meaning is more 'to look at things carefully' as they are in charge of taking care of the group.
  • Their fanclub name was Genjibu Kansokusho (ゲンジブ観測所;Genjibu Observatory).
  • Their Twitter account (@genjibu_sdr) once got suspended during their first album promotion so they had to come up with a new one (@gnjb_music) which later got rebranded as the group's fanclub twitter.
